La regione ospita alcune delle citt\u00e0 pi\u00f9 congestionate al mondo, principalmente a causa dell\u2019elevata concentrazione della popolazione nelle aree urbane. Le 10 citt\u00e0 pi\u00f9 grandi della regione concentrano 176,31 milioni di persone, mentre la pi\u00f9 piccola supera da sola i 4 milioni di abitanti. Inoltre, le citt\u00e0 si sono sviluppate come un\u2019unica area urbana in continua espansione verso le zone circostanti.   <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"color_11 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Ad esempio, Bogot\u00e1 e Monterrey, classificate rispettivamente come la quinta e la nona citt\u00e0 pi\u00f9 congestionate al mondo, registrano ritardi di 122 e 116 ore per conducente. Ci\u00f2 significa che, in un anno, i pendolari di queste citt\u00e0 trascorrono tra 116 e 122 ore in pi\u00f9 rispetto al tempo di viaggio \u201cideale\u201d. L\u2019elevata congestione riduce la velocit\u00e0 media di percorrenza per chilometro.  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"color_11 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Il Brasile non \u00e8 estraneo a questo problema. San Paolo e Belo Horizonte registrano rispettivamente 56 e 65 ore di ritardo per conducente. A San Paolo, i suoi 12 milioni di abitanti e i 20 milioni di pendolari dell\u2019area metropolitana riducono la velocit\u00e0 media dei veicoli a 15 km\/h nelle ore di punta. Tra queste vi sono il Pico y Placa a Bogot\u00e1 (Colombia), l\u2019accesso al centro di Santiago (Cile) riservato ai veicoli elettrici e il rodizio a San Paolo (Brasile). Le politiche pubbliche pi\u00f9 recenti sono orientate alla creazione di infrastrutture adeguate per il funzionamento dei servizi di mobilit\u00e0 condivisa, con l\u2019aspettativa che i consumatori adottino modalit\u00e0 di spostamento pi\u00f9 efficienti e convenienti, aumentando la velocit\u00e0 media dei veicoli. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Di conseguenza, soluzioni di mobilit\u00e0 innovative stanno emergendo e sviluppandosi nella regione, con circa 20 aziende attivamente operative in America Latina tra le fasi seed e growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Questi servizi di mobilit\u00e0 possono essere suddivisi in tre categorie principali: ride hailing, car-sharing e micromobilit\u00e0. I primi due offrono un valore maggiore a consumatori e PMI, poich\u00e9 la qualit\u00e0 degli asset \u00e8 mantenuta a livelli ottimali e rispetta costantemente i requisiti normativi e operativi. Il modello P2P, invece, presenta attriti significativi e lacune qualitative che riducono il valore per gli utenti, soprattutto perch\u00e9 la manutenzione dei veicoli e i servizi accessori sono affidati al proprietario del mezzo e non alla piattaforma.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"color_11 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Un esempio di modello P2P che ha faticato a raggiungere la redditivit\u00e0 \u00e8 HyreCar. Sebbene i suoi ricavi siano cresciuti da meno di 100.000 dollari nel 2015 a 35 milioni di dollari nel 2021, con un CAGR del 226%, l\u2019azienda non ha mai superato un margine lordo del 30% (27% nel 2021). Inoltre, l\u2019EBITDA \u00e8 stato negativo ogni anno, raggiungendo un margine EBITDA del -78% nel 2021 e distruggendo un valore complessivo di 69 milioni di dollari nel periodo considerato. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"color_11 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">HyreCar \u00e8 stata fondata nel 2014, ha lanciato una piccola IPO da 12,5 milioni di dollari e ha dichiarato bancarotta nel febbraio 2023. In base all\u2019applicazione, il mercato si divide tra piattaforme web o mobili e operatori terzi. Tra questi segmenti, le piattaforme web o mobili hanno detenuto la quota maggiore del mercato del car-sharing in America Latina negli ultimi anni. Questa crescita \u00e8 dovuta all\u2019aumento della diffusione degli smartphone, che facilita l\u2019accesso alle piattaforme di car-sharing. I consumatori latinoamericani stanno adottando un approccio asset-light, privilegiando l\u2019efficienza sopra ogni altra cosa: efficienza economica, scegliendo un abbonamento mensile anzich\u00e9 l\u2019acquisto di un veicolo, ed efficienza in termini di tempo, ricorrendo ai servizi durante gli ingorghi urbani. Inoltre, il traffico urbano ha raggiunto un punto di svolta che ha costretto i governi a implementare politiche pubbliche restrittive sull\u2019uso dei veicoli, accelerando l\u2019adozione di servizi di mobilit\u00e0 alternativa. Tutto ci\u00f2 ha favorito la crescita dei modelli di ride hailing, car-sharing e micromobilit\u00e0 nella regione.   <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Tuttavia, non tutti i servizi di mobilit\u00e0 alternativa sono redditizi e sostenibili nel lungo periodo. I modelli di business privi di un reale vantaggio competitivo possono mascherare la creazione di valore attraverso una forte crescita dei ricavi, ma senza efficienze operative o una proposta di valore superiore rispetto ai concorrenti, a prezzi competitivi e con margini lordi superiori al 40%, la redditivit\u00e0 e la sostenibilit\u00e0 del business risultano difficili da raggiungere.
