Day in the Life: Ludovica, Analyst, Investment Management
Your journey at Aluna Partners Â
Growing up in a bilingual German-Italian school, I was introduced early to Wirtschaft, economics taught entirely in German. Exploring topics such as the 1929 financial crisis sparked a deep interest in how economic forces shape societies and influence daily life. Realising the scale of that historical event made me aware of the powerful and far-reaching role financial markets play, an awareness that has guided many of my academic and professional choices.  Â
I further cultivated this interest during my studies in International Economics and Management at Bocconi University, where I delved into financial markets, company evaluation, and the relationship between innovation and economic growth. Experiences in venture capital, fintech research, and healthcare consulting strengthened my analytical capabilities and allowed me to study business models and market trends across diverse sectors, an exposure that would later prove invaluable.  Â
When the opportunity to join Aluna Partners arose, I was immediately drawn to the firmâs international perspective and its rigorous, research driven approach to structuring investment solutions. Joining the Investment Management team offered the chance to combine three aspects of the industry that I find particularly meaningful: analytical depth, strategic thinking, and the ability to build trusted relationships. Â
Your current role and responsibilities Â
In my current role, I support the fundraising process for our securitization vehicle by ensuring that investors receive clear, accurate, and insightful information. My responsibilities range from preparing and maintaining the Virtual Data Room, to conducting company analysis and risk assessments, engaging directly with prospective investors, and identifying strategic partnerships that can enhance our platform. This combination of quantitative rigour and high-level communication makes the role both intellectually stimulating and professionally rewarding.  Â
My objective is to contribute to a fundraising process that is transparent, reliable, and supported by strong analytical foundations. To achieve this, I focus on producing differentiated materials that support investor decision-making, evaluating companies comprehensively to understand both value potential and risks, and cultivating relationships based on clarity, trust, and thoughtful dialogue. Over time, I have strengthened key skills such as financial and structural analysis, particularly within asset-backed finance frameworks, effective communication, nuanced risk assessment, and relationship management. Together, these competencies shape the holistic approach I bring to my work. Â
What is your favourite part of your role? What are some of the top skills have you been able to develop at the firm? Â
My favourite part of the job is engaging with clients and learning from their experience. These interactions give me valuable insight into different business models and how companies manage their credit and financing needs. Â
I have strengthened my analytical skills significantly through credit assessments and financial analysis. Iâve also developed greater quantitative capabilities by working hands-on with internal risk models. Additionally, regular interaction with clients has improved my communication skills and my ability to build strong professional relationships. Â
What makes working at the firm special? Â
What makes Aluna Partners distinctive is its people. The firm environment prioritizes open dialogue, curiosity and precision from the very first day an employer joins the company. A proactive mindset is what truly matters. This creates a setting where complex challenges become opportunities for learning and growth. I particularly value the trust placed in analysts: from the very beginning, I have been involved in crucial stages of the fundraising process and have had direct exposure to investors, experiences that have accelerated my development and strengthened my confidence.  Â
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, especially outdoors, whether skiing, golfing, or swimming. I also have a passion for reading and travelling, as I find both activities intellectually enriching and essential for remaining connected to new ideas and emerging global trends in an increasingly interconnected world.Â
